Makumu Private Game Lodge is the realisation of Stefan Breuer’s childhood dream. With support from his family and a dedicated team of creative
people, he built the astonishingly beautiful Makumu Private Game Lodge in the Klaserie Private Nature Reserve in Hoedspruit. Makumu, meaning
‘endless view’, offers guests expansive views from the lodge and each individually designed suite. The three suites – Bushman, Ndebele and
Zulu – offer a spacious retreat for guests, with outdoor hammocks and refreshing outdoor showers and private plunge pools for those summer
days. The lodge is at once welcoming and relaxing and surrounds you with the warmth, earthy colors and rich textures of Africa. Enjoy freshly
prepared meals and snacks under open skies, or sundowner drinks around the boma fire pit. Makumu is dedicated to the conservation of wildlife
and upliftment of local communities. It is actively involved with Eco Children, a non-profit organisation initiated by the Klaserie Private Nature
Reserve that focuses on hands-on environmental education and whole school development. At Makumu, you can experience private guided
game drives away from the crowds, in search of the Big 5. Head off on foot with your guide and tracker to find the smaller sightings the bush
has to offer. And for the brave at heart, spend a night camping under the stars in Makumu’s treehouse for a unique and exhilarating experience.
