A solar power system supports the lodge’s energy needs, limiting reliance on non-renewable resources and reducing Makumu’s footprint on the land.

Water, one of Africa’s most precious resources, is treated on-site through Makumu’s own water treatment system. This ensures responsible use while protecting the surrounding environment.

Just as important is education. The children who visit Makumu are taught to respect nature and understand the impact of littering and waste. These simple lessons build lifelong habits, encouraging a generation that values and protects the natural world.

Rhino Force: Protecting Wildlife on the Ground
